The National Desexing Network (NDN) is proud to partner with the City of Salisbury to provide subsidised cat desexing for eligible local residents.

This community desexing initiative is designed to:

  • Prevent unwanted litters
  • Reduce stray and feral cat populations
  • Support vulnerable and disadvantaged pet owners
  • Lower the cost burden on councils, vets, and the community

Who is eligible?

Local residents may be eligible if they:

  • Hold a pension or concession card
  • Are on a low income
  • Are caring for multiple cats
  • Are willing to desex and adopt unowned stray cats
  • Are experiencing financial hardship or are otherwise disadvantaged

How does the program work?

  1. Call NDN on 1300 368 992 to check your eligibility.
  2. If approved, you will receive a desexing voucher via email.
  3. Use your voucher at the participating vet clinic.
  4. Make an appointment and be sure to mention your NDN desexing voucher.

Eligible residents currently contribute just $100 per female cat and $60 per male cat, with the remaining costs subsidised by Council, NDN, and participating vet clinic.

Let’s work together to improve animal welfare and reduce the number of unwanted cats in our community.
