“Fix your Feline Friend for Free”
Geelong Animal Welfare Society with support from the Victorian State Government are issuing limited vouchers for free cat desexing and microchipping (if applicable) to eligible residents within the Geelong region under their ‘Fix a feline friend for free’ initiative. This will include any pain management and follow-up health checks.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be over the age of 18.
- Reside in areas serviced by GAWS (i.e. City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire and Borough of Queenscliffe).
- Applicants must hold a current Centrelink pension/concession card.
- One voucher per person.
- To be redeemed by 31st July 2025 (may be extended based on availability).
- Cats only.

I need assistance.
Someone dumped 3 kittens on my front lawn two weeks ago. They all cried for 3 consecutive evenings until I gave in and finally left some kitten food outside for them. Only one kitten has returned. It is very scared and I’m waiting for a trap from the city of casey. I want to give it a home when I finally trap it and give it some love. I would like to have it desexed and put up for adoption. I have telephone cat refuge places near me and they are at capacity. RSPCA said they would not take the kitten because I live jn Hallam. I’m retired and already have 2 cats. Could anyone help me as to what to do please. City of Casey can’t help and it could be a few months before a cat trap becomes available.
