The City of Greater Bendigo (VIC) is taking a proactive approach to reducing cat overpopulation through its long-running partnership with the National Desexing Network (NDN).
Since 2020, this initiative has supported hundreds of local residents to access affordable desexing — helping prevent unwanted litters before they begin and reducing pressure on shelters and the wider community.

Eligible residents currently contribute just $65 per female cat, from $55 for male dog, with the remaining costs subsidised by Council and participating vet clinic/s.
