🐾Upper Hunter Shire Council Joins NDN in Community Desexing Initiative 🐾

We all want a safer, healthier community – for people and pets alike. That’s why Upper Hunter Shire Council has partnered with the National Desexing Network (NDN) and local Vet Clnics to help locals desex their cats affordably.
Desexing isn’t just good for your pet – it’s a proven way to reduce stray and feral cat populations, prevent suffering, and cut down on nuisance issues like spraying and roaming.

Who is eligible?

All Upper Hunter Shire Council residents. Max. 2 vouchers per household.

How does the program work?

  1. Call NDN on 1300 368 992
  2. If approved, you will receive a desexing voucher via email.
  3. Use your voucher at the participating vet clinic: Pet Medical Vet Clinic, Scone.
  4. Make an appointment and be sure to mention your NDN desexing voucher.

Eligible residents currently contribute just $125 per female cat (additional surcharge of $32.50 payable if your female cat is pregnant or in-season), $70 per male cat, with the remaining costs subsidised by Council and participating vet clinic.
